Kim Eun-ju CKWP Director
Kim serves as the Executive Director of the Center for Korean Women and Politics and the joint-leader of Women’s Party. Her major research interest includes studies on women’s politics, theory of equal representation politics, inter-Korean relations, and North Korean women. She is working for education on democratic citizenship for female youth, female immigrants, and North Korean refugee women, the feminist peace movement, and the movement for the amendment of the Constitution and politics-related acts. She received a bachelor’s and master’s degree from and completed a doctoral course at Ewha Womans University Department of Political Science & International Relations.
She served as a Women’s Policy Research Committee member for Daejeon Metropolitan City, a Women’s Policy Advisory Committee member for the Department of Gender Equality and Family, a Women’s Policy Conciliation Committee member under the Prime Minister’s Office, a Women and Children Future Vision Advisory Committee member under National Assembly Chairperson, an expert member (assistant administrator for the sociocultural subcommittee) of the Presidential Committee for Unification Preparation, a policy evaluation officer for the Ministry of Unification, and a Democratic Citizenship Educational Committee member of the Election Commission. She is now working as a Central Standing Committee member of the National Unification Advisory Council.
She is the author of books, including North Korean Women’s Life Appearing in Oral Statements vol. I-IV (Center for Korean Women and Politics), Looking into Women’s Politics in South Korea (co-authored, Korea Women Parliamentarian Network), Constitutional Amendment in South Korea (co-authored, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies Knowledge Press), Political Education for Women's Political Participation (Korean Women's Development Institute). Her has conducted numerous studies, such as “Analysis of Issues surrounding the Constitutional Amendment for Gender Equality and Attempts to Seek Alternatives” (co-authored, National Assembly Gender Equality and Family Committee) and “A Study on the Achievements and Effective Measures of the Gender Quota System for Official Nomination” (co-authored, Korean Women's Development Institute). She has also contributed her writings to columns titled “Kim Eun-ju’s Equal Representation” (2013), “Women & Unification” (2014) and “Kim Eun-ju’s Other Politics” (from 2019 until now) on The Women’s News.
