Han Seung-Ho Soongsil University, Korea

Han is the head of the Inter-Korean Cooperation Team under Gyeongdong Research Institute for Future Strategies. He received a doctoral degree in North Korean Studies from Dongguk University Department of North Korean Studies with his thesis, “A Study on the Operating Mechanism of Discourses on North Korea’s Governance” (2012). He wrote numerous theses, including “A Study on Scientists Featuring in North Korean films of the Military-First Era” (2009), “A Study on the North Korean Film ‘Pyongyang Nalpharam’” (2014), “Significance and Direction of Social and Cultural Exchange between South and North Korea”(2014), “A Study on Changes in Political Ideas Seen in the North Korean Media Before and After Kim Jung-un’s Seizure of Power” (2014), “A Study on ‘Nuclear’ in North Korean Film” (2016), and is the co-author of NK POP (2018).

He served as a specialist at the executive office of the Presidential Committee for Unification Preparation, an advisor to the National Unification Advisory Council, and a member of the Unification Education Committee under the Ministry of Unification. He is now a regular member and director of the Korean Political Science Association, the Korean Association of International Studies, the Korea Association of North Korean Studies, and The Journal of Peace Studies.
