Lee Soo-Jeong Duksung Women's University, Korea
Lee serves as a professor of Cultural Anthropology at Duksung Women’s University. Her major and research interest include political anthropology, cultural anthropology, gender studies, and North Korean studies. After having graduated from Yonsei University Department of Sociology, she obtained her master’s and doctoral degree in anthropology from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She served as an assistant professor at the University of North Korean Studies and the vice chief of the Rainbow Youth Center. She is now the chief editor of the Cross-Cultural Studies published by Seoul National University Institute of Cross-Culture Studies, a policy advisor to the Ministry of Unification, a director of the Migration and Youth Support Foundation, a director of the Korean Association of Women’s Studies, an editor of Discourse 201 published by the Korean Association of Socio-Historical Studies, and the head of the Women & Family Division at the Korean Association of North Korean Studies. She is the co-author of Opening Hearts beyond Division (Sahoe Pyeongnon, June 2019), A Map in Divided Mind (Sahoe Pyeongnon, June 2017), Variation of Traditions and Solidarity: Lifeworld of Divided Koreans (Hankook Publishing House, September 2016), Connecting Divided Minds: The Contact Zone for South and North Korea (Sahoe Pyeongnon, June 2016), and wrote numerous theses, writings and books.
