Kim is a professor at Yonsei University Department of Cultural Anthropology. He graduated from Yonsei University Department of Newspaper & Broadcasting, and obtained his master’s degree at Seoul National University Department of Communication and his doctoral degree in Culture and Representation at the University of Tokyo Graduate School of Arts and Science. He is the author of An Intellectual History of The Japanese Empire and Eschatological Bureau.
