Cho is a senior research fellow at the Korea Institute for National Unification, and serves as a member of the standing committee for the National Unification Advisory Council. She received her doctoral degree in Education from Seoul National University. She co-authored North Korean Women’s Daily Lives and Gender Politics (Korea Institute for National Unification, 2019), The Story of Two Cities—Pyongyang and Hyesan: Space of Life for North Koreans (Korea Institute for National Unification, 2017), and North Korea’s Educational Policy, Curriculum and Textbooks in the Kim Jung-un Era (Korea Institute for National Unification, 2015).
